LOUISVILLE(KY)-Police in the US, killed 164 black people, in the first eight months of 2020! Can you imagine how many were killed in the last fifty years? There were about 20 black people, per month, who were killed in 2020. By this standard, you take twenty murders per month, times twelve months, it equals 240 murdered black people per year. Then take 240 and times it by a decade(10 years), and you get 2400 black people, killed by police! Now take 2400 murdered black people, by police in a decade, and times that by 5 decades. This equals 12,000 black people, murdered by police, in 50 years! This is an average based off of the first 8 months of 2020, and are not the official numbers. There are no reliable sources of official numbers, that I could find, that were not seriously flawed or incomplete.
In 2015, The Washington Post began to log every fatal shooting by an on-duty police officer in the United States. In that time there have been more than 5000 such shootings recorded by The Post. decade ago, the Department of Justice stopped collecting data on deaths tied to police violence because the numbers were unreliable … Reporting these cases was voluntary, and there were virtually no incentives for police departments to submit this information to the federal government.

In August, PBS reported that the lack of sound information surrounding police shootings is widespread, that “a decade ago Department of Justice stopped collecting data on deaths tied to police violence because the numbers were unreliable … Reporting these cases was voluntary, and there were virtually no incentives for police departments to submit this information to the federal government.”
Police average 1,000 fatal shooting deaths per year!
We have witnessed the killings of countless innocent black people, like Breonna Taylor, who was murdered, by what look like a hit sqaud! The Louisville police, served a no knock warant, on someone who was already in custody! Do you really believe that was just an accident? How about the murder of George Floyd? It is not just black people, who are killed by police. Whites & hispanics are also murdered by police, but black people are 2.5 times more likely! What about black on black crime? What about white on white crime? Blacks kill blacks, & whites kill whites! White on white crime is 80.2% and black on black 88.5%, according to the FBI data from 2017.
We need to defund some departments, who have a history of racial profiling, and have a major overhaul of our entire justice system! We see video after video of police, who murder innocent people, thanks to advaces in technology, and social media. Now we just need an advancement in human descency, policy, and political courage!
